Harbord Subscription and Billing Terms

Last Updated: October 7, 2026 | Effective: October 7, 2026

These Subscription and Billing Terms are part of the Harbord Terms of Service. If anything here conflicts with the general Terms of Service, these terms control for questions about pricing, trials, renewal, cancellation, and refunds.

1. The Free Tools Stay Free

Everything you need to get through a craving is free, and we intend to keep it that way. Specifically, the following are and will remain available at no charge: the full in-the-moment craving flow and its tools, the calm and reflect tools, the trigger map, the plan hub, emergency and support contacts, important dates, money saved, the sobriety commitment screen, backup and restore, app lock, the crisis and emergency resource screens, the meeting finder links, and the foundational tier of the educational content.

If we ever change what is free, the change will apply only to people who install the App after the change. Anyone already using the App keeps free access to the features listed above.

2. What a Subscription Adds

A paid subscription unlocks additional educational lessons beyond the free ones and additional guided meditations and visualizations. Subscription content is deeper educational material. It is not safety content, and you do not need it to use the App to get through a craving.

We may add, change, or remove subscription content over time. We do not promise that any particular lesson or recording will remain available.

3. Free Trial

New subscribers may be offered a free trial of 7 days with full access to subscription content. One free trial per person, per platform. Apple and Google determine eligibility, and we may end or change trial offers at any time for people who have not already started one.

Your free trial converts into a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged. If you do not cancel, you will be charged the price shown at signup and your subscription will renew automatically until you cancel.

If you cancel during the trial, you keep trial access until the trial period ends. Starting a trial and cancelling it forfeits the remainder of the trial only if the store you purchased through removes access at cancellation, which is a store setting we do not control.

4. Prices and Billing

Current prices are $7.99 per month or $49.99 per year, in U.S. dollars, plus any applicable tax. The exact price, currency, and billing period for your subscription are shown to you inside the App before you confirm the purchase, and again by Apple or Google on the purchase confirmation screen. That screen is the controlling statement of what you are buying and what it costs.

All purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchase systems. We do not take payment directly, we do not process your card, and we never see your payment card number, billing address, or other payment details. Your subscription is billed to the payment method on file with your Apple ID or Google account.

5. Automatic Renewal

Read this section before you subscribe.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annually depending on what you bought.

You will be charged the then-current price for each renewal, using your Apple or Google payment method on file.

Renewal charges are processed within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Renewal continues until you cancel. There is no fixed end date and no separate renewal notice from us.

To stop renewing, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling less than 24 hours before the end may not stop the next charge.

Apple and Google send their own purchase and renewal receipts and reminders under their policies. Because we have no account system, we cannot email you a renewal notice.

6. How to Cancel

You cancel through the store you bought from, not through us. We have no ability to cancel a subscription for you.

iPhone or iPad: Open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap Harbord, then tap Cancel Subscription. You can also do it in the App Store app under your account.

Android: Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, tap Payments and subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, tap Harbord, then tap Cancel subscription.

Cancelling stops future charges. You keep subscription access until the end of the period you already paid for, and then the App returns to the free tier with all of your content still on your device.

7. Refunds

Apple and Google handle all refunds for purchases made through their stores, under their own refund policies. We cannot issue, approve, or deny a refund for a store purchase, and we do not have access to your payment method.

To request a refund from Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

To request a refund from Google: go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions or use the Google Play refund request form.

Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not prorated. If you delete the App, your subscription does not cancel automatically. You still have to cancel through the store.

Nothing in this section takes away any refund, cancellation, or cooling-off right you have under the mandatory consumer law of the place where you live. If you believe you have such a right and the store will not honor it, contact us at support@getharbord.com and we will work with you on it.

8. Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. A price change does not affect the period you have already paid for. Where Apple or Google requires your consent to a price increase before it takes effect, your subscription will not renew at the higher price unless you give that consent. Where consent is not required, we will give notice through the App or the store listing before the increase applies to you, and you can cancel before the next renewal if you do not want to continue.

9. Promotional and Introductory Offers

We may offer introductory pricing, promotional codes, or other offers. Those offers have their own terms, are limited to eligible users as determined by Apple or Google, cannot be combined unless we say so, have no cash value, and may be changed or withdrawn at any time before you redeem them. When a promotional period ends, the subscription renews at the standard price unless you cancel.

10. Restoring a Purchase and Using More Than One Device

Harbord has no accounts, so your subscription travels with your Apple ID or Google account rather than with a Harbord profile. If you reinstall the App or set up a new device using the same store account, use Restore Purchases in the App to restore subscription access.

Your content does not travel with it. Journal entries, recordings, and everything else are stored on the device that created them. To move your content to a new device, use the Backup and Restore feature before you switch. If you use a different store account on a different device, you will need a separate subscription for that device.

11. Taxes

Prices shown may not include sales, use, VAT, or similar taxes. Apple and Google calculate, collect, and remit applicable tax at the time of purchase based on your store account location, and the tax is shown on the store's purchase confirmation.

12. Family Sharing Is Turned Off

Harbord subscriptions cannot be shared through Apple Family Sharing or the Google Play family library. This is deliberate.

When a subscription is family shared, the family organizer sees it. The app name appears in their purchase history, in shared subscription lists, and on the payment method they control. For most apps that does not matter. For this one it would mean that buying Harbord tells a parent, a spouse, or whoever manages the family account that you are working on recovery, which is exactly the kind of disclosure this App is built to avoid.

You also lose nothing by it. Because the App has no accounts and stores everything on the device that created it, a shared subscription would not carry your content to another phone anyway.

13. If We Stop Offering Subscriptions

If we discontinue the App or the subscription, we will stop charging renewals and will give reasonable notice through the App or the store listing. You keep access for the remainder of any period you have paid for, subject to the stores' ability to keep processing. Your content remains on your device.

14. Suspension for Misuse

We may disable subscription access, without refund, if a purchase is fraudulent, charged back, obtained through a circumvented paywall, or used in violation of the Terms of Service.

15. Questions

For anything about a charge, a renewal, or a refund, contact Apple or Google first, since they hold the transaction. For anything else, email support@getharbord.com.
